“What feels like an end is often the new beginning”- a smart woman

Welcome or Welcome back enthusiasts to the last edition of our series, ‘Maplytics as a successful add-on to Microsoft Dynamics Field Service’. We are glad to have had your support through our previous chapters of-

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service: A Guide for Territory Management

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service: A Guide for Resource Scheduling Management

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service: A Complete Guide for Route Optimization!

Here’s to the concluding chapter where we sum up the last set of select features that Maplytics has in its kitty that can enhance the utilization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service further more! Let us dive in!

Mobile Integration of Dynamics 365 Field Service

The Field Service mobile app enables technicians on the field to check and update work orders, customer records, accounts, and more on the go. The app is available for Windows 10+, Apple iOS, and Google Android devices.

Features such as Camera Captures, Barcode Scanning, Calendar Viewing, Entry Time, Reporting, etc. can be utilized by field users. Maplytics, our popular Dynamics 365 add-on, can be accessed through this app. The features such as real-time tracking of field reps, checking in and out of the meetings from the meeting locations themselves, sharing of important meeting notes, attachments, and files, geofencing, etc. can all be done using the app.

Application Integration of Dynamics 365 Field Service

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service integrates with multiple business applications to regulate and streamline the field service data and operations. Field Service integrates with Microsoft Teams, Supply Chain Management, SAP, and a lot more.

Maplytics, the 5-star rated geo-mapping app on the Microsoft AppSource contributes to enhancing all these integrations in some form or the other. Within Supply Chain Management and Dynamics 365 Field Service, the Truck Routing Feature of Maplytics could be used to plan truck routes, manage, and plot them in an optimized manner, and also save the details of the truck asset and the inventory it would be carrying.

Census Data Mapping in Maplytics

Apart from this, Census Data Mapping of Maplytics could be used by new businesses venturing into Field Sales. They could use the latest census data to analyze regions, markets, target groups, demographics, and so on before setting up businesses.

Business owners globally can upload their census data as shape files and utilize it smoothly. It enables the end user to target their desired audience by creating categories and having an analysis of the existing population.

Land Area Mapping in Maplytics

Land Area Mapping is a feature of Maplytics that the users can use to assign the land or farm or any geographical area to a particular record and also visualize the same on the map. The Dynamics Field Service users opting for Maplytics can analyze a client location with this information and schedule a field rep accordingly.

Overlay in Maplytics

Overlay helps the user to view Dynamics CRM records along with shape/excel files, existing territories, and ArcGIS Online feature layers plotted on the map.

With the overlay feature, Field Technician is able to-

  1. View the existing territories within the new area by plotting them over the map and know the headcount in all the territories along with other details, and
  2. Import external shape/ excel files, save them in CRM, and plot the same over the map to view the territorial data in-depth

The ArcGIS option in Overlay helps the user to select from among the live feature layers hosted by ArcGIS Online, facilitated by Esri. The file need not be in the territory and can be used even with real-time changes.

Heat Maps in Maplytics

Heat Maps have been one of the popular graphical elements that have been successfully utilized to induce vivid presentations. They are a way to represent data in a color-coded manner. Normally the X and the Y axes represent two elements and the relationship between the two is represented by the intensity of the colors. Businesses popularly use Heat Maps to represent sales, revenue, the concentration of the target audience, etc.

Sales reps on the field can utilize heat map reports or screenshots of the graphs plotted in their client presentations. More field technicians could be assigned to the regions with a higher concentration of the target audience. Overall, Field Service could be enhanced with these additional, unique nuances.

What’s More?

Thus, in this five-part series highlighting Maplytics being the perfect sidekick, a cool add-on, and an essential partner to Dynamics 365 Field Service, we covered the enhancements that can be brought about to some of the amazing functions of Field Service. These upgrades are bound to be extremely helpful in improving the quality and management of Field Services. Dynamics Field Service is growing every day and so are we.
